Electric Shuffle, Manchester

Client: Red Engine

Completed: 2024

Our team was appointed to provide the detailed design, construction phase duties, and contractor support for a new high-end bar and venue in Manchester.

The new venue spans 11,400 sq ft, with a capacity of 450 people, it features a high-end bar, multiple private shuffleboard areas, and space for dining and drinking. Electric Shuffle offers a fully digital high-end entertainment experience, with technology that allows for live replays, mini-games, and accommodates up to 32 players.

The electrical design makes use of CAT 6 structured cabling to handle the high level of data, as well as specialist play space wiring to serve the play tables, leaderboards, and puckometers. Other works included mode lighting control system design, fire and lighting control systems, data, small power AV, and sound systems.

An innovative approach was taken to ensure the highest standards in thermal comfort and air quality, while simultaneously maintaining energy efficiency. The mechanical design incorporated a heat recovery air handling unit (AHU), optimising the ventilation system. The kitchen, in particular, received a state-of-the-art supply and extract system equipped with an electrostatic precipitator and carbon filters. This setup was further enhanced with a heat recovery system, marking a significant step towards energy recovery and efficiency.
