Greater Manchester Chamber Property & Construction Awards
The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has revealed the shortlist for its 2016 Building of the Year award. The Maggie’s Centre at The Christie has been selected as a finalist by the Chamber’s Property & Construction Committee, which is responsible for choosing the winning building. S I Sealy provided the detailed M&E building services design for The Maggie’s, which opened in April 2016.
Now in its twelfth year, the objective of the award is to recognise a building’s contribution to Greater Manchester, in terms of construction and development, and the collaboration of the project’s design team alongside the client.
Over the next few weeks the Committee, consisting of experts from a range of businesses in the property and construction sector, will be undertaking site visits before making its final decision. The winning building will be announced at the Chamber’s Property & Construction Annual Dinner at The Hilton Deansgate in Manchester on the 20th October.
S I Sealy & Associates are delighted to be sponsoring The Construction Apprentice of the Year award. This will also be presented at the Annual Dinner to an apprentice working in a construction-related role on a full apprenticeship framework. The winner will be presented with the award and a cash prize on the evening by David Stafford.
David Stafford, S I Sealy Director commented: “It’s important to celebrate how our industry is encouraging more young people into rewarding careers in the sector and recognise the ambitious, hardworking and inspirational apprentices. It’s great that businesses within the industry are developing young people through apprenticeships and this award shows how apprentices can greatly benefit each business.”
