Rochdale Infirmary Ophthalmology Department

Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust moved the Ophthalmology Department from Birch Hill to Rochdale Infirmary to create their new “Eye Unit”, providing a comprehensive ophthalmology services for planned and emergency care.

S I Sealy provided the full detailed designs for the conversion of an existing Maternity Unit into the new Eye Unit. The new Unit includes two co located operating theatres, support accommodation and a refurbished outpatient unit, including two wards for adults and one for children.

We produced fully co-ordinated designs complete with construction phase monitoring. The design was in accordance with all associated Hospital Technical Memorandums and Hospital Building Notes.

The project was completed on time and budget.
