We provided ACE full duties for Altrincham College of Arts – a new build sixth form college. These duties included full mechanical and electrical engineering design, contract management and site monitoring of the mechanical and electrical installation. The college includes a science lab, domestic science facilities, an art room, a drama studio, an ICT business centre as well as classrooms and a refectory. These facilities are accessed by a 3 storey atrium.
The building incorporates a large central atrium, which is ventilated by a smoke extract system which is also utilised to limit summertime overheating. Classrooms are individually ventilated utilising CO2 controlled class vent systems with heat recovery, and areas of high internal heat gain, such as LRC and ICT areas, are provided with cooling and heating via air source heat pumps. The building is highly energy efficient and utilises a Trend BMS to manage the M&E systems.
