Renovation plans for Accrington Market Hall & Burton Chambers
Plans for the Accrington Town Centre regeneration project progress as Hyndburn Borough councillors approve Accrington Town Centre Investment Plan (TCIP).
The regeneration plan includes a variety of projects throughout the town centre that aim to improve everyday life for locals, environmental quality in the town, and deliver sustainable growth to the local economy. As part of the proposed regeneration project, our team has been instructed by Hyndburn Borough Council to carry out a condition survey and report of the MEP services, M&E design proposals, and a decarbonisation study for the refurbishment of the Market Hall and Burton Chambers.
Burton Chambers is intended to be restored with potential space for cafes, restaurants, and retailers, whilst the Grade II Listed Market Hall building will be refurbished into a high-end eating, drinking and cultural venue with modern facilities for independent traders to use the market.
Mike Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said: “This plan will be used to generate future investments, bid for funding and steer Hyndburn Borough Council over the coming years. It is estimated to take shape over the next 10-15 years and, when completed, will transform our local economy through supporting new jobs, increasing footfall and helping Hyndburn be a place people aspire to live, work and enjoy.”
