Successful handover of two projects in the Education sector
North Ridge School Sixth Form, located in Abraham Moss Educational and Community Village, has been handed over by the McAvoy Group.
The new 948m2 two-storey Sixth Form will accommodate 65 students who will be educated in a purpose-built facility catering for all their educational needs. The building comprises multi-functional learning spaces for food technology, ICT, constructional textiles, craft, design and technology, and general classrooms. S I Sealy provided the detailed MEP design and full building and energy modelling services to prove compliance with TM52 (Thermal Comfort) and CBDM (Climate Based Daylight Modelling). The design utilised energy-efficient MEP systems resulting in a 17% improvement to Part L2a compliance and a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
Another project successfully handed over is West Lancashire College Science Block. The project consists of a complete remodel of an existing redundant nursey to form a new health science laboratory suite. The suite comprises a science lab, a prep room, classroom and foyer space with the design in full compliance with the latest DfE Output Specification, BB101 and CLEAPSS.
